A MUST READ DOCUMENT

  • Do not work out the day of the procedure. NO EXERCISING!
  • Exercising increases your blood flow, which will cause you to bleed more and much easier during the procedure. Please do not exercise.
  • Water only, but not too much! NO Caffeine, Decaf, Tea, Sodas, Sports Drinks, etc. – the morning of your procedure.
***Place a note on your coffee maker the night before. Drinking caffeine, a stimulant, will make your procedure more uncomfortable.
  • Please avoid direct sun exposure for two weeks or arrive at your appointment with a sunburned face.
  • Please arrive at your appointment makeup-free and without scented perfumes and body lotions.
  • Do not consume Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, fish oil, or Ibuprofen 1 week before the procedure. Note: If you are on a physician-prescribed blood thinner, you will want to advise your physician and ask him how many days before your procedure to be off of this prescribed blood thinner.
  • No waxing or tinting 3 days before the procedure.
  • If you wear contact lenses, bring your eyeglasses to wear home, if we are doing your eyes.
  • Please note that you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
  • Do not use Retinol/Retin-A products and/or exfoliants for 30 days prior.
  • 3 days before your appointment, you will receive a reminder text message and email. This message will include the address of my location along with your appointment date and time.
  • Please arrive at your appointment prepared! Be familiar with these instructions and perhaps read them again when you receive your appointment reminder. Remember, they are always available online.
  • 48 hours’ notice of cancellation is required. You will lose your $150 non-refundable/transferable booking fee per scheduled procedure for missing your appointment or failure to cancel within the required time. Please be curious about everybody’s valuable time.
  • If you wear false eyelashes, they will need to be completely removed prior to your appointment (only if doing eye procedures) without any residue of glue left over.
Lip Procedures: If you have any history of or concern regarding cold sores/fever blisters/herpes simplex I, you will be requested to contact your physician to obtain the proper prescription medication to help prevent such outbreaks. Smaller doses of an antiviral totaling 1000 mg per day, but on a more frequent daily basis dosage such as 250 mg of antiviral 4X’s per day, or 200 mg 5 X’s per day has been noted as possibly being more effective than larger more infrequent daily dosages. These are industry-related guidelines only, and medications should always be taken as your physician directs. DO NOT have lip fillers completed 6 weeks or earlier prior to your permanent makeup procedure.

  • I offer a 5% discount for “cash” paying clients. Hence, for those who need to use a credit card, I have to add 3.5% on those purchases. I also accept Venmo, and local checks. Discounts will not be combined with any other special offers.

YOUR AFTERCARE

50% of your overall success is based on what you do after you leave the studio. Following these aftercare instructions is essential to achieve this success.

  • Day 1-2:
When you arrive home from your appointment, wash off any weeping serous fluids in the tattooed area using a gentle cleanser or wet Q-tip.
  • Continue this process every 3 hours only during waking hours.
  • Day 3 – 10
  • Normal to Dry Skin – Wash/dry your face at the sink as usual (30 seconds).
  • You may not apply other creams, makeup, sunblock, or products to the tattooed area or forehead for 14 days. Please wear a hat and sunglasses.
  • Keep the tattooed area completely dry when showering for 14 days by making a “Shower Cap Visor.”  Don’t worry – I will provide you with a shower cap and a demonstration.
  • DO NOT rub, pick, or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring or pigment loss.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 30 days after the procedure.
  • Avoid heavy sweating and exercise for the first 14 days.
  • NO facials, Botox, chemical treatments, and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.
  • If possible, avoid sleeping on your face for the first 14 days.
  • The tattooed area will appear darker and bolder initially before the exfoliation process. Our goal is “Flaking, not chunks” when exfoliating. After exfoliating, you will feel that you have lost your color. Be patient. Your color will reappear towards the fourth week.
  • Ideally, when exfoliating the tattooed area, we want “Flaking, not chunks.” After exfoliating, you will feel that you have lost your color. Be patient. Your color will reappear towards the fourth week.
  • If you have an oily T-Zone, use astringent pads twice daily to remove excess oils from your forehead. (Eyebrow procedures)
  • If LIPS were tattooed, the post-healing procedure differs from eyebrows and eyes. Instead of dry healing, we want to keep the lips continuously moist the entire time. DO NOT ALLOW to dry out.  Apply as often as needed for moisture. You will be sent home with one complimentary LIP BALM containing 5% Lidocaine. Use only for 1 to 2 weeks, and reserve in a safe place.  Continue moistening with BURT’S BEES NATURAL LIP BALM for the remaining 4 weeks (please purchase). Expect 1-2 additional sessions after the initial Lip Appointment.
  • If you receive a “new” or initial procedure, schedule a follow-up appointment in 4-6 weeks to reinforce and fine-tune your tattooed area.

Thank you very much for your service. I appreciate you sincerely.

LONG TERM CARE

  • If you plan to be in the sun for prolonged periods of time, use good sunscreen on your eyebrows and lips. Sun exposure will fade your permanent cosmetics and cause the makeup in your Eyebrows to “ash out” (turn gray).
  • The use of Retin A/Retinol/chemical peels or any other rapid skin exfoliation products regularly used on the forehead area can cause your permanent makeup in the eyebrow area to fade prematurely.
  • If you are planning a professional-level chemical peel, laser procedure, or MRI scan, please inform the technician of your permanent cosmetics.
  • If you have 1) fair skin with blue eyes, 2) have a history of hypothyroidism, 3) have heart disease, 4) spend a lot of time out in the sun, and 5) have oily skin, you must understand that your pigment will fade quicker than normal. Please be prepared for more frequent maintenance visits.
  • I highly recommend that Eyebrows be maintained every 18 to 24 months unless you fade quickly.
  • I recommend Eyes be maintained approximately every 4 years when the pigment begins to dull (gray) in appearance.
  • I recommend maintaining Lips approximately every 5 years when the color continues to soften quite a bit compared to what you started out with.

Please keep these instructions for future touch-ups, and THANK YOU for being my client. It’s always an absolute pleasure to serve you. Sincerely, Carolyn.
